When found your book, Our Name Is Melancholy, over 10 years ago, I thought, now this woman is enlightened!
Literally, you have lifted much of the weight of fear from Death, and I felt like I was holding your hand through many of the passages, and moving with you through your evolutions and revelations.
Thank you for being brave & crazy enough to share such a personal level of experience, and for not being afraid to explore subjects & practices our society is scared and ashamed of.
In a time of great, oppressive, ignorant fear, you are a beacon of courage, freedom, playfulness, and above all, LOVE!!
(and naught a word of fear!!)
Since having my eyes opened through your hard work, I have been moved to write songs to Azræl, Erishkegal, Nut, Baron Samedi, and other archetypes/guardians/bodhistatvahs of change & transformation. I have become so much more comfortable with change, I have finally accepted it inherently as a part of this reality. Chaos & Death God/desses are now welcome in all of my rituals & spells. I understand the ebb & flow of the world, the movement of the seasons, the give and take of life & death, and how utterly necessary both halves are, how they complete each other.
I feel whole.

Hello Leilah and Daniel! It's been a while, huh? I'm sorry, I've been a bit busy. Building a HTTP/FTP/SMTP/IMAP/POP3 server to run from one's apartment can be time consuming! Damnage is back online! :) I haven't decided what I want to do with it yet. For right now, I'm just happy that I got the e-mail server together! My next trick will be building a DNS server so I can be 100% self-sufficient... Linux is a TRIP lemme tell ya...

Dear Leilah,
Ever since I was a very small child,I've always been fasinated with the Angel of Death.I would take my bike and spend hours visiting the many old
and picturesque cemeteries that where close to my
childhood home.
It was my most happiest times and all this time,
I had to keep this all inside my heart...
It wasn't till I moved to NYC that I found out that there were others like me who loved Azeral,
[Mr. D. I call him!]
Personally, I think he's cool!
I am also an illustrator and a doll artist-I'm now
working upon an idea for Death dolls-huggable,soft
and hand-made!

JOURNEY TO PERSEPHONE'S BRIDAL CHAMBER

Overall i deffinitly like you site. particularly the history on the personifications. I have just one correction you may want to look at. When you talk about the Roman gods of Death you portray Orcus as the "Grim Reaper" figure, which he is not. Mors is the Roman Version of Greek's Thanatos the original "Grim Reaper" figure. Orcus is a minor deity regarding death and punishment of perjurers. Mors you have down as a minor female goddess which he was not. the minor female goddess you have him confused with is Morta. Other then that it looks great. Keep up the good work.

Yeah it's me again. I have been thinking over the past few days about this site and what to say. I came up with this thing, I don't know what it is. You can call it a poem if you want but I call it just a bunch of thourghts about death and what it is in comparison to life. Enjoy.
Life is a constant exposure,
Death is a veil against it.
Life is an explotation of the senses,
Death is the soothing of the spirit and soul.
Like is continuous, ear-splitting noise, tearing the mind,
Death is no sound, a peace, what keeps the mind whole.
Life is pain, fear and sin,
Death is relief, calm and forgiveness.
Life is regret, emptyness and longing,
Death is fufilment and the end of a journey.
Death is a happiness life can not deliver.

Ladies and gentlemen, the proof of the metaphysical pudding is in the crust. I am so glad and so relieved to read that the Westgate pulled through--it's one of those good stories to come out of Katrina that send the media salivating. On another note, it's not like Azrael to leave His mortal family down, but I don't suppose that's one for the media. I'm so happy to hear that y'all are safe! I just tried to donate to the Westgate Relief Fund, but I couldn't get it to work. I'm on a business trip right now, but rest assured that when I get home I'll be sending a check.
My Mama has been staying with us since the storm hit, but if things go well she'll be returning to her house in Metairie by the end of the month.
